Lotus Planting Instructions
Plant in wide (24-48 inch or larger), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a shallow trench in the soil and plant the lotus tuber (keeping growth tips exposed) in the trench, being careful not to damage the growth tips. Add a few inches of water over the tuber and place where it will receive at least 8 hours of sun each day. In a couple of weeks you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water. DO NOT FERTILIZE until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Lotus Fertilizing Instructions
Fertilize monthly with Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs (June through September) for vigorous growth and best bloom!
