Super Lotus

Lotus Plant Description

Super Lotus is a dazzling lotus specimen with first day flowers in shades of  splendid, sugar-pink! Second day blooms are a combination of pink and white and with third day flowers-- simply sweet perfection in pure-white! The wide outer petals frame this flower beautifully! This tall variety can be planted in large tubs or containers and placed on your patio or terrace. Super Lotus makes a marvelous focal point in the shallow end of your pond! One of the few lotus varieties that opens perfectly by hand almost every time!

Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant this lotus specimen in a wide (24 - 48 inches) or wider, shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench in the soil and place the lotus tuber in the trench with the growth tips pointing up. Be careful not to damage or break the growth tips. Cover the tuber with a couple of inches of soil leaving the growth tips exposed and add four inches of water above the soil. Place your container in a sunny location outdoors where it will receive at least 8 hours of sunlight daily. In a week or so you should have coin leaves on the surface of the water. A week or so after that you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, you may fertilize your lotus.

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

Gently press 4 to 6 fertilizer tabs around the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots.  We recommend that you feed your lotus 4 to 6 fertilizer tabs each month during the growing/blooming season (June through September). We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates for optimum growth and best bloom!
