Plant Description

PINK BOWL LOTUS has bright pink, bowl shaped flowers on this splendid specimen! Long, narrow petals are often striped in shades of pink. A favorite specimen in the lotus industry! Cheerful, cup-shaped blooms with sunny-yellow receptacles and sunny-yellow anthers. A delightful addition to your water garden feature!

Pink/Dwarf-Medium/Semi-Double

Planting Instructions

Plant your lotus in heavy loam soil using wide (16-30 inches wide or wider) shallow containers. Dig a trench in the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to break or damage the growth tips. Cover the tuber with soil while leaving the growth tips exposed. Add 3-4 inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors. In a week or two, you should have coin leaves on the surface of the water, a week or two after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, it is time to fertilize your lotus.

Fertilizing Instructions

Fertilize monthly after aerial leaves are growing out of the water. Lotus are very heavy feeders. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for optimum growth, best bloom and ease of use. Simply press the fertilizer tabbs into the soil near the roots of your lotus, taking care not to damage the roots. Do this once a month throughout the growing/blooming season, (June through September). Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!
