Piano Melody (Qinyun) Flowers are adorned in soft cream and blush coloration along with flying/dancing form-- that magically sets the stage for this captivating specimen. A soft breeze adds graceful movement to these poetic blooms! Add this enchanting lotus to your water garden feature!
Plant this lovely specimen in a wide (18-30 inches or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place the lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to damage the growth tips. Pull some soil over the tuber while keeping the growth tips exposed. Gently add a few inches of water above the surface of the soil and place in a sunny location. Lotus should receive at least 8 hours of sunlight per day. In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water, a week or so after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, it is time to fertilize your lotus.
Once you have aerial leaves, you may fertilize your medium sized lotus with four fertilizer tabs per month, during the growing/blooming season (June through September).
We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for healthy plant growth and more blooms! Simply push the fertilizer tabbs into the soil (about one inch deep) being careful not to damage the roots.
