Lotus Plant Description
Evening Showers Lotus is resplendent with opalescent colors and blooms early in the season and often throughout the summer! The sacred lotus flowers are washed in lustrous shades of pink, yellow and mint green with bright, golden-yellow stamens and receptacles. This sacred lotus plant is always a customer favorite! Lotus Planting Instructions
Plant in a wide (16-20 inch) or wider, shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench in the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with an inch of soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Add a couple of inches of water over the soil and place where your lotus will receive at least 8 hours+ of sunlight daily. DO NOT FERTILIZE! In a week or so you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water, once the coin leaves turn into aerial leaves growing out of the water, you may fertilize your lotus with fertilizer tabs.
Lotus Fertilizing Instructions
We recommend you use three fertilizer tabs each month during the growing/blooming season (June through September). Simply press the tabs one inch into the soil around the roots of the lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Always replenish the water that evaporates from your lotus container.
Lotus are very heavy feeders. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates for best bloom and optimum growth!
