Deacon Degarmeaux Lotus

The Child

Deacon deGarmeaux (2008-2011) was a beautiful, energetic little boy. Deacon was beloved by all of the people who knew him. He kept good track of his family and knew where we were at all times. He was happiest when he knew that everyone in the room had a toy, before he chose one for himself. He was cheerful and pleasant and could be heard calling out "Hello Neighbor!", when walking in his neighborhood.                                        

Deacon loved pizza, chicken nuggets and fries WITH ketchup! He loved super heroes and Thomas the Train was his favorite toy.                                                                          

He was a pleasant and obedient child, he died tragically and much, much too soon. Our hearts were broken.                                                                                                    

 
The Lotus

Laura Bancroft, lotus hybridizer and special friend, helped us to begin the healing process by naming a beautiful lotus for Deacon shortly after he died. The Deacon deGarmeaux Lotus helps us honor Deacon and celebrate his life. All proceeds from the Deacon deGarmeaux Lotus go to children's charities around the world.

Deacon deGarmeaux Lotus is a splendid red to pink, medium-large lotus with elegant single petal flowers. It grows quite tall (5 - 6 feet) depending on the container size. This lotus makes quite a statement in your pond or water garden feature. Tall, strong and beautiful, it can be used as a backdrop for shorter specimens or a stand alone plant on your deck or patio. A lovely remembrance lotus for your water garden.
