How to plant your lotus
Plant your lotus in a wide, shallow, no homes container using loam soil. Fill the container 2/3 full of loam soil. Pace the tuber in a shallow trench on the surface of the soil. Cover all but the growth tips with soil. Add 2 - 3 inches of water above the soil and place the container is full sun outdoors (8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily).
How to fertilize your lotus
Wait until you have aerial leaves to fertilize your lotus. Fertilize throughout the growing/blooming season (June through September). Your last dose of fertilizer should be administered in early September. This will allow your lotus to go into dormancy naturally.
