Snow Loving Lotus

Lotus Plant Description

Snow Loving Lotus is a marvelous, multi-petal, white lotus with ruffled lotus blooms throughout the season! Snow Loving Lotus is a beautiful, small lotus growing 18 - 24 inches tall. The pure-white lotus flowers on Snow Loving Lotus often have green petaloids in the center, which add a regal touch to this majestic lotus hybrid!

How To Plant Your Lotus

Plant Snow Loving Lotus in a wide (11 - 20 inches in diameter) shallow, no holes container. Fill the container 2/3 full with loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench. Take care not to break or damage the growth tips. Gently cover the lotus tuber with an inch or two of soil while leaving the growth tips exposed. Add 2 - 3 inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny area outdoors. Lotus need 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily to grow and bloom. Do not fertilize your lotus until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, you may begin to fertilize your lotus.

How To Fertilize Your Lotus

Do not fertilize your lotus until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Lotus are very heavy feeders. We recommend a slow release fertilizer like Waterlily World Fertilizer Tab for optimum growth, best bloom and ease of use. Simply press three tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus plants each month, from June until September, making September the last application of fertilizer for the year.
