(Chinese name: Fentao)
Scrumptious shades of dark pink, light pink, green, gold and white are displayed in this enchanting specimen! Large, luscious blooms are ruffled with magnificent color and are simply sublime. This HEAVY BLOOMER will add a marvelous touch to your pond or patio. Lime-green receptacles and dark- green foliage are perfect complements to this stunning lotus!
Plant this spectacular, tall specimen in a wide (24-48 inch or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to damage the growth tips. Gently pull some soil over the tuber while keeping the growth tips exposed. Add a few inches of water over the soil and place in a sunny location in your pond or on your patio, where it will receive at least 8 hours of sunlight. In a week or two, you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water. DO NOT fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, you may fertilize once a month with fertilizer tabbs. We recommend 4-6 fertilizer tabbs each month during the growing and blooming season (June through September).
We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for optimal growth and best bloom! Gently push the fertilizer tabbs one inch into the surface of the soil, being careful not to disturb the roots. Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!
Always plant your lotus tuber by the end of May, after all danger of frost has passed.
Lotus tubers may be stored in the crisper of your refrigerator untill proper planting time for your area!
Don't fertilize your lotus too early, always wait until your lotus has aerial leaves before you fertilize your lotus!
