Lotus Planting Instructions
Plant this magnificent lotus in a wide, shallow container using a heavy loam soil, dig a trench in the mixture and place the lotus tuber in the trench and plant it, being careful not to damage the growth tips and to keep the growth tips exposed. Add a couple of inches of water above the soil and place your container in full sun outdoors. Lotus need 8+ hours of sunlight to grow and bloom!
DO NOT fertilize. Soon you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water. After the coin leaves, you will begin to see aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, it is time to fertilize your lotus.
Lotus Fertilizing Instructions
Fertilize with 1/2 the recommended dosage of a slow release fertilizer. Once your lotus is established, fertilize every three weeks with the recommended dosage. Fertilize June through September, during the growing/blooming season. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for optimum growth, best bloom and ease of use!
