Ken's Dream Lotus

Sold Out $ 53.00

Ken's Dream Lotus is an elegant, tall, single-petal, white lotus that adds a sense of peace and tranquility to your water garden setting. The wide petals are white and delicately edged in red, giving this tall, white, single-petal lotus a definitive look! Gold receptacle adds an elegant touch to this stunning lotus variety.

Ken's Dream Lotus was created by Dr. Daike Tian and Dr. Ken Tilt while working on the Auburn University Project. Ken's Dream Lotus is a cross between the American lotus, Nelumbo lutea, and a Chinese lotus, Space Lotus 36.

Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant your tall lotus specimen in a wide (24 - 48 inches wide, or wider), no-holes, shallow container using loam soil. Fill your lotus container 2/3 full with loam soil. Dig a trench in the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench. Gently cover all but the growth tips with an inch or two of soil--leaving the growth tips exposed. Add two to three inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors. Do not fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.

How To Fertilize Your Lotus

Fertilize your lotus once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for optimum growth and best bloom. Simply press the tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus plant, taking care not to damage the roots.

Please see our 'Complete Lotus Growing Guide' included with your lotus purchase.
