Not an exceptional bloomer but Golden Splash Hibiscus is definitely one of the most unusual lotus we have seen!
Lotus Planting Instructions
Plant in wide (24-48 inches or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the top of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with soil and add 4-6 inches of water above the soil. Place your container in a sunny area of your pond or patio (Lotus need 8 hours + of sunshine per day). In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water, a week or so after that you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water. DO NOT FERTILIZE until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Lotus Fertilizing Instructions
Fertilize monthly (June through September) during the growing/blooming season for vigorous plant growth and best bloom! We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates. Simply press four to six fertilizer tabs down into the soil, being careful not to damage the roots of your sacred lotus plant. Do this once a month for beautiful green foliage and more blooms!
