Plant Description
Red Tower Of Qinhuai Lotus is a tall, brilliant-red lotus with multi-petal flowers. This is a remarkably beautiful lotus with exquisitely shaped, garnet-red blooms. The flowers are large and darker than most lotus flowers. One of the most striking lotus we have seen!
How to plant your lotus
Plant your Red Tower Lotus in a very wide (24 - 48 inches wide) shallow, container using loam soil. Fill the container 2/3 full of loam soil. Dig a shallow trench on the surface of the soil and gently place the lotus tuber in the trench, taking care not to break or damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with an inch or two of soil. Gently add 5 - 6 inches of water above the soil. Place your lotus container in a sunny location outdoors where it will receive 8 - 12 hours of sunlight each day. Do not fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
How to fertilize your lotus
Wait until you have aerial leaves to fertilize your lotus. We recommend using a slow release fertilizer like 'Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs' for optimum growth, best bloom and ease of use. Simply press the fertilizer tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus, taking care not to damage the roots.
