RED RIVER LOTUS Has STUNNING, rosy-red colored petals with dark red tips! Full, shapely flower and handsome green foliage! An excellent specimen for your water garden feature.
Plant in heavy loam soil using wide, shallow container and 2-4" of water above the soil. Cover the lotus tuber with soil while leaving the growth tips exposed. Place your lotus in a sunny location outdoors. Fertilize your lotus once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Lotus are very heavy feeders. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for best bloom, optimum growth and ease of use. Simply press the fertilizer tabbs into the soil near the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Do this once a month throughout the growing/blooming season, June through September. Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!
