Lotus Plant Description
Red Pegasus Lotus is another wonderful hybrid from hybridizer, Pun Punnaline. Red Pegasus Lotus is a brilliant-red, medium sized, multi-petal lotus that looks splendid when planted in containers and placed in a sunny area of your outdoor living space! Bright-red blooms with yellow-gold receptacles and handsome green foliage make a lively addition to your water garden feature!
How to plant your lotus tuber
Plant your lotus tuber in a wide, shallow container using loam soil. Fill the container 2/3 full of loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place the lotus tuber in the trench. Cover all but the growth tips with an inch or two of soil. Gently add 3 - 4 inches of water above the surface of the soil. Place in a sunny area outdoors where the lotus will receive 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily. Do not fertilize until you have aerial leaves.
How to fertilize your lotus
Wait until you have aerial leaves to fertilize your lotus. If you fertilize too soon, you may burn the plant. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for best bloom and optimum growth. Simply press the tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus.
