New Cloud Brocade is simply captivating with large, stately blooms in delicate pastel shades. The brocade-edged petals have a magnificent drape--a desirable feature in lotus! New Cloud Brocade will add beauty and elegance in any area of your pond or patio. Blooms early and often! In the top 10 Heavy Blooming Lotus!
Plant in a wide (24-48 inches or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place the lotus tuber in the trench, gently covering all but the growth tips in soil. Carefully add a few inches of water above the soil and place where the lotus will receive at least 8 hours of sunlight each day. In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water. DO NOT FERTILIZE! Soon you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, you may add fertilizer tabbs to the soil around the root of your lotus tuber. Be careful not to damage the roots as you gently push your fertilizer tabbs one inch into the soil. Lotus are very heavy feeders! Fertilize during the growing/blooming season (June through September) for strong plants and best bloom.
We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for optimum growth and best bloom!
