Wide, crisp- white petals with golden-yellow centers on this classic, single petal lotus. Outer petals may have a hint of green in the petals. Lovely in your pond, poolside or on your patio!
Plant this tall lotus in a wide (24-48 inch or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a shallow trench on the surface of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench and cover all but the growth tips, leaving them exposed. Be very careful not to break or damage the growth tips when planting. Gently add a few inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors. (8+ hours of sunlight daily) DO NOT FERTILIZE! In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water, in another week or so you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water. You may fertilize your lotus once you have aerial leaves.
Fertilize monthly during the growing/blooming season (June through September) with 4-6 fertilizer tabbs each month. Simply press the tabbs into the soil around the roots, being careful not to damage the roots.
Lotus are very heavy feeders, we recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for optimum growth and best bloom!
