Plant your lotus tuber in a wide, shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench in the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench keeping the growth tips exposed. Add a couple of inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors. In a week or two you will have coin leaves growing on the surface of the water. Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, you may fertilize your lotus with fertilizer tabbs each month. Never fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Lotus are very heavy feeders! We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs+ Humates for vigorous growth and best bloom!
