Celebrities Lotus will be a superstar in your water feature with big, red, multi-petal flowers that simply POP with color! This amazing lotus is a tall variety which grows four feet tall or taller, with handsome green foliage which contrast beautifully with the bright-red blooms! Once in a while the lotus flowers have bubbled receptacles which add to the depth and dimension of this spectacular beauty! Striping often occurs on the flower petals of established plants, adding to the range of this stellar performer! Celebrities Lotus needs a wide container to achieve its full potential, use a 24 inch wide or wider container.
How To Plant Your Lotus
Plant your lotus in a wide container, 24 inches wide or wider, using loam soil. Add 4 - 6 inches of water above the soil and place your lotus where it will receive at least 8 - 10 hours of sunlight daily. The more sun the better! Do not fertilize your lotus until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, it is time to fertilize your lotus.
How And When To Fertilize Your Lotus
Once your lotus has aerial leaves growing out of the water, you may begin to fertilize your lotus. Start with 1/2 the recommended dosage of fertilizer for your initial application of fertilizer. Fertilize with the recommended dosage of fertilizer for the rest of the growing/blooming season, which will be every three weeks. Make your final fertilizer application in early September. This will allow your lotus to go into dormancy naturally.
We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for optimum growth, best bloom and ease of use. Simply press the tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus.
