Ai Jiangnan is an exceptionally unique, small, single petal lotus flower with an ethereal color combination. Yellow, lemon chiffon petals, with inner petals that are are tipped with a hint of green and outer petals are softly kissed in a sweet shade of pink. This unusual, tri-color color combination brings beauty and grace to any water garden setting. HEAVY BLOOMING AND AN EARLY BLOOMER AS WELL!
Plant in a wide, shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a shallow trench across the top of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench, being careful not to damage the growth tips. Gently cover all but the growth tips with soil. Add a couple of inches of water above the soil. Place your container in the shallow end of your pond or on your deck or patio in full sunlight.
DO NOT fertilize until you have at least two (2) aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, you may fertilize with three (3) fertilizer tabs, on the 1st and 15th of each each month, from June until September. Lotus are very heavy feeders and require fertilizer for bountiful blooms!
